Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has criticised the government over its efforts in fighting internet fraud activities, better known as ‘yahoo yahoo’ in Nigeria.
The popular rapper on Thursday called on the government to do more to put an end to the increasing rate of crime which has tarnished the country’s image abroad.
He expressed his disapproval of cyber crimes, adding that it is an offence against humanity no matter the living conditions in the country.
a chat with E-Daily, Falz said, “I think the government through their law enforcement agencies are supposed to come in and clamp down on people perpetrating such acts and make sure that people face consequences for their actions; because if they do face consequences, that could be a deterrent to other people thinking about committing such acts.
“I’ve always said this from the beginning of time and maybe I was the first person to get a backlash on this. I’ve never been a fan of celebrating cyber-crime.
‘’When I said it in an interview, it got me a lot of backlashes.I
will say it again and again; cyber-crime is wrong, cyber-crime is giving us a horrible name, especially outside Nigeria.
“It’s destroying our youths and a lot of people are feeling it’s the only option.
“I understand the sentiment of people were not privileged and feeling like cyber-crime is the fastest way to get money.
But there are people out there actually putting in efforts, toiling, struggling to make it by doing legitimate stuff and not just taking from someone else.
“One thing I believe is that you live your life, let others live theirs, as long as you living your life does not affect another person negatively.
“But as long as you are taking from someone else, that is an offence even against humanity and it’s bad.I’ve never subscribed to it and I’ve never been a fan of celebrating it.”
GOBE!!! Lekki Semi-Nude Ladies: We Will Make Tekno A Scapegoat To Others – FG
The Federal Government has threatened to use Tekno as a scapegoat to send strong signals of intolerance to ‘nonsense and immorality’, as it expressed disappointment that the Cartel Music boss released the music video which sparked controversy while being shot…
Recall that Tekno suffered a backlash after being spotted in a viral video shared on social media dancing in a transparent moving van on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos, with four semi-nude women.
Reacting to the release of the music video, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Segun Runsewe said they were queried by Nigerians at home and in diaspora after a clip of the semi-naked women went viral. He also warned against shameful conducts which is not part of “our” culture.
“We commend the police for arresting Tekno for the shameful misconduct. The same person, who was granted bail on health grounds has gone ahead to release the controversial video. We are now warning him to desist from this shameful conduct, which is not part of our culture.
“No single person is bigger than Nigeria; whether he likes it or not, we are going to use him as a scapegoat to send strong signals that this government does not tolerate nonsense and immorality, but discipline, which is our moral principle.
“Since the offensive Tekno scam video came to the limelight, I have received hundreds of telephone calls and SMS from Nigerians at home and others in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and other parts of the world querying why such anomalies would be tolerated in Nigeria.
“Now that he has released the shameful video when investigation is still ongoing, we are going to inform security agencies to place him on their watch list, because his action is a threat to national security and a bad influence on Nigerian youths.
“We are committed to exposing proponents of this kind of offensive sights and videos. We warn that nudity is not part of our culture and should not be tolerated. The Federal Government will henceforth fish out clubs for nude dancers across the country for their promoters to face prosecution.”
Kizz Daniel Disappoints Fans As He Refuses To Go On Stage For Performance At His Concert In Canada
Kizz Daniel yesterday disappointed a lot of his Canadian fans after he refused to go on stage to perform at a concert of his in Montreal.
Kizz who has been going about North-America for over 2 months now for his NBS Concert was billed to perform yesterday in Montreal as part of the tour activities, but got fans feel like they were dealt a “dagger to the heart” after it was announced that he had decided not to go on stage.
A video of the event is currently circulating in the internet with a lot of people alreading having negative things to say about the “Madu” singer.
This wouldn’t be the first time Kizz Daniel would be caught up in show-absence controversy or its synonymity as it has happened more than a couple of times before.
However, in the absence of detailed reports, it would be so unfair to apportion any blame to Kizz as it could possibly be a disregard for contract on the part of the show promoters that led to the him not making an appearance. That isn’t certified too as well, but until there are more reports, music fans should just stay-off laying blames and spreading inaccurate news.
Moreso, in a way to exterminate any confusing and indifferent perception from fans, it would do a lot of good if a press release could be made available from the management of the super-talented singer.
